Fashion director of Marie Claire and The Project Runway judge Nina Garcia has opened the doors of her Manhattan home to Architectural Digest and it from what we see it’s all about style. Designed by Carlos Aparicio the originally three-bedroom apartment is not clean and elegant but not minimalist.
The living room features a neutral color scheme which is a combination of light grey structured walls and light wooden floors. The furnishings include a light brown leather Fritz Henningsen armchair, a light brown daybed, Henningsen side table, and Carl Malmsten chairs. The two focal points in the room is an abstract artwork by Ronald Albert Martin above the sofa and a big Kähler vase standing on a pedestal.
The dining room is decorated with an abstract James Nares artwork, a statement B4 pendant light and a Jean-Michel Frank BAC set of wood table and chairs upholstered in red and stripped fabrics from Stark and Lee Jofa.
The bedroom is furnished with a custom bed with tufted headboard, wooden side tables by Frank for Comte, Emilio Terry bench and a patterned rug. The dressing room of a fashion director and insider looks just as stylish. It features a built-in wardrobe and lighting, Frank chaise longue, and high side table in metal framing.
